Cape Town Wedding Planner Real Wedding: Pretty in Pink Asara Wedding

Cape Town Wedding Planner Real Wedding: Pretty in Pink Asara Wedding

Today we are daydreaming of one of our very first weddings that our Cape Town Wedding Planner team at Nicolette Weddings had the honour of planning and co-ordinating. Tatiana Karelina, a name on the international beauty scene, owning Tatiana Karelina beauty salons found all around the UK and hubby-to-be Shawn Frazer. Even now, we get excited thinking about the new and special elements on the wedding scene that Tatiana and Shawn had us really putting our Cape Town wedding planner powers of creativity and planning to use to achieve, all tied together with a touch of pink.

The couple chose Asara Estate, just outside of the gorgeous town of Stellenbosch in the Winelands of the Western Cape, as their Cape Town winelands wedding venue. I mean, you can’t call it work when you’re setting up with a view like this one distracting you, right?

We went for the classic white ceremony décor because it would be the perfect base to highlight Tatiana and Shawn’s fresh, romantic theme of hues of pink roses with a touch of natural greens used on the ceremony arch and darling aisle posies.

The stunning and oh-so-elegant bride was glowing moments before she said I do.

Tatiana’s wedding gown was custom made for her with a special surprise sewn in that would be a fun and delightful change-up later on at the reception…read more below where the surprise is revealed…

Of course, the guys had to get their close-ups too!

It was time. Pretty pink bouquet, check!

Rings, check!

Seeing as every single one of Tatiana and Shawn’s guests had flown in from overseas for the wedding, the couple knew that they would need an extra hand shading themselves from the unfamiliar hot South African sun, so we recommended the very popular and very cute white paper parasols which were an absolute hit!

While awaiting the arrival of the bride, guests were able to have a quick look at who’s who in the bridal party which was beautifully printed on these nifty paddle-fan order of service cards.

The ceremony was perfect! Not a breath of wind and just clear blue skies for this idyllic Cape Town wedding scene.

Once the legalities were all said and done, the excited newly weds joined their guests for a glass of bubbles, which had a sweet little touch added to them with a tag saying a warm welcome to each guest who there to celebrate with them.

Then the couple headed off to capture the moment with the help from their talented photographer. You can just see how much fun they had! That’s what it should be all about; light-hearted and not-so-serious FUN (with some gorgeous Cape Town winelands in the background).

Why not share some ice cream from the darling vintage ice cream trolley in the Asara quart yard? A romantic mid-shoot snack to share!

When it was time for the wedding reception to be begin, guests headed into the gorgeous dinner venue held in the Raphael’s restaurant at Asara Estate. To help guests find their seats, the talented team from Secret Diary created this custom wedding seating chart.

Don’t you just love the whimsical use of different chairs? These giant pink velvet tall back chairs were such a perfect fit for this pink theme!

This wedding’s table décor was pretty, simple yet so effective thanks to careful planning . When you have bright fresh colours, your flowers do so much all on their own, that’s why we went with classic slivers and tall single candlesticks displayed on white tablecloths, to really let the pink florals shine through.

The final touch to the tables was the wedding dinner menus and name cards, all effortlessly carrying through the same pretty pink theme from the very beginning of the day.

Another really fun element was the custom made Gobo light, that shone the names of the new Mr and Mrs on the golden walls in, of course, pink!

Pink here, pink there, pink everywhere! Even in these super cute guest favour goodie bags filled with South African keepsakes, like the sweet little wooden giraffe figures you can see just peeping out, for Tatiana and Shawn’s guests to take home at the end of the evening.

Of course, there was pink in the desserts too! We just love the idea of a dessert table here at our Cape Town wedding planner office, there’s something yummy for everyone.

The details were phenomenal on this dessert table, another job well done by our favourite, Wade’s Cakes! Just look at these delicate custom laser-cut cupcake wraps.

Instead of a traditional wedding cake, we arranged a tower of cupcakes with miniature flags of all the countries that their guests travelled from, made up in edible rice paper for each cupcake, what a great way to honour the journey each guest took to attend this Cape Town wedding.

After dinner it was time to dance the night away, so off came the detachable skirt of Tatiana’s wedding gown. Surprise!! How neat is that?!

Seeing all the very trendy elements of this wedding, you’d never guess that it actually happened over five years ago! No wonder HELLO! Magazine had a beautiful feature on after the wedding.
