Cape Town Wedding Planner Reflection: Zonel and Luke’s Modern Luxury Wedding at Cavalli Estate
We’ve missed you! Due to the hustle and bustle of a very busy start to Cape Town’s 2016 wedding season, we’ve had to take a little break from our favourite weekly catch-up, blogging! This week, on our Cape Town wedding planner blog post, we are featuring one of our favourite weddings from last year’s Cape Town wedding season, Zonel and Luke’s modern, simplistic, yet luxurious wedding at Cavalli Estate.
This wedding was a treat for us as Cape Town wedding planners, since it was so unique and out of the ordinary, yet still had a magical sense of romance that one would expect from a wedding celebration in Cape Town’s winelands.
Our Cape Town wedding planner team are such big fans of this stunning venue. We love working with Cavalli as it’s a perfect blend of modern and upmarket, has a fabulous reputation, and even better food. The estate functions primarily as a wine estate and stud farm so there is plenty to see and experience there, as well as a variety of perfect photo spots around the venue for a post-ceremony couple shoot.
We also love working with Cavalli’s event management team as they are friendly, professional, and always willing to accommodate any special requests or arrangements for our couples.
Zonel and Luke’s wedding at Cavalli was absolutely gorgeous! We loved the bride’s fresh, and modern approach, and her ideas were perfectly suited to this uber-stylish venue. Zonel envisaged a simplistic and natural feel for her wedding concept, and this was brought to reality at the ceremony alter where we built a large square gazebo and draped it naturally with plenty of green foliage and lush pink roses, for a naturally romantic and whimsical look.
Since the ceremony was held in the great outdoors at Cavalli Estate, not much else was needed to turn the ceremony venue into a perfectly magical space to exchange rings amongst loved ones.
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed scrumptious canapes, fresh out the Cavalli kitchen, while the sun set slowly over the water, as guests looked on from the large wooden veranda.
While guests were enjoying their cocktails and canapes, the newlyweds took a moment to slip away and capture a few moments together before guests took their seats for dinner and the real party began.
For the reception, we extended Zonel’s vision of modern simplistic luxury, by setting out large white tables with raw wooden legs, topped with long garlands of dark green foliage across each table, and accompanied by wooden block based plates, topped with intricately detailed glass base plates for an extra lavish look!
Why have two base plates? Because why not?!
The tables were then adorned with long dinner candles in a variety of lengths, in rich gold candle holders for a touch of candle lit, metallic romance.
The breath taking, Pinterest Perfect wedding cake was a four-tiered masterpiece from Wade’s Cakes, draped with a green garland with tiny white flowers to match the table garlands perfectly!
To thank their guests for joining their special day of love and celebration, Zonel and Luke gifted each couple with a hessian bag of incredible, award winning coffee to enjoy and possibly assist with any hangovers the next day.
A sparkler send off to bid farewell to the newlyweds was the perfect end to the perfect night for these lovebirds.
Looking back at all the fun we had planning this wedding, we are so thrilled to have chosen Liz from Puccini Creations to bring our brief to life, and Duane from Duane Smith Photography to capture it all so beautifully!
