Step into an Enchanted Forest with this Whimsical Cape Town Wedding
As Cape Town wedding planners we hope to put together wedding celebrations that are straight out of a couple’s daydreams. Today’s featured wedding was exactly that, in so many ways. Australian couple, Sheree and Stefan, had a vision of an enchanted forest as the setting for their wedding and the end result on the big day was certainly very enchanting.
Cape Town wedding venue, Molenvliet, was the perfect venue for this whimsical theme, as they went the extra mile to make this couple’s daydream into a reality. The venue kindly cleared out an opening in their forest especially for the ceremony and it was really a special scene to walk through the forest and discover this clearing where Sheree and Stefan got married. They stood under a natural arch of tree branches, with beautiful birds nests hanging from above.
The couple were encircled by a ring of foliage and florals, with a rose petal aisle marking the path to one another. All flower and décor elements were done by the talented Liz of Puccini Creations.
This Cape Town wedding took place in January and the couple were treated to a perfect summer’s day, ideal for the outdoor elements of the wedding.
It also meant they had magical lighting for their couple shoot in the early evening.
Sheree wore a dreamy gown and Stefan matched perfectly in an off-white suit.
While the couple had their photos taken guests enjoyed an outdoor cocktail hour with live music by vibey band, Shake and Bake Entertainment.
There were lawn games and face painters to keep everyone entertained.
The “Enchanted Forest” theme carried through into the reception, where chandeliers strung with colourful crystals and bundles of foliage hung from above.
The flowers were a colourful spray of garden blossoms.
We loved the stationery and quirky seating plan by Secret Diary Stationery Design – each table was named after a different forest creature.
The couple enjoyed a festive celebration with food catered by 2 Chefs and music by The Wedding DJs.
