Taya and Darren’s Cape Town Wedding: Relaxed Romance in the Rain
As Cape Town wedding planners, we are spoilt with an awesome array of beautiful wedding venues to offer to couples for their wedding day location. This couple, Taya and Darren chose Hout Bay Manor, a luxury location set in the hills of Hout Bay – a perfect Cape Town wedding venue for an intimate gathering.
The first step when planning a Cape Town wedding is to understand what atmosphere or feeling the couple envisions for their day. Taya and Darren wanted their day to have an easygoing and relaxed feel, and they wanted to make the most of the venue’s luxury feel, combined with its natural surroundings. We decided on a theme of “natural romance.”
To bring the theme to life visually the couple chose a lovely combination of soft pink roses paired with proteas and succulents, set on wooden rounds and softly lit with candles. Decor was kept to a minimum, rather allowing the venue to show off its natural, luxury elements. The reception room is round with wooden floors, an effective mirror ceiling and a striking chandelier, offering a beautiful backdrop for a romantic celebration.
The couple were married outside in the courtyard and then guests enjoyed drinks and canapes to the sound of a marimba band, while the couple had their couple’s photographs taken. As a Cape Town wedding planner I’ve seen many couple’s pics, but the pictures from this wedding are especially beautiful. It rained while Taya and Darren had their pics, but they relaxed and took advantage of the sunset combined with the rain and stormy skies, and the results were stunning!
A highlight of the job as the Cape Town wedding coordinator is to see the couple really enjoying their wedding day together. Throughout the celebration we could see Taya and Darren’s happiness and love for one another shining through – what a lovely pair!
