Cape Town Wedding Planner Reflection: Nerita and Robin’s Mint and Lavendar Wedding
To say it’s been an extreeeemely busy year for us Cape Town wedding planners would be an understatement! In fact, we’ve been so tied up with weddings that we haven’t been able to blog about any of them for quite some time, but enough is enough so today we’re going to start blogging again about all our beautiful weddings and gorgous brides over the last year, and I thought we’d start right from November, 2013, when we saw Nerita and Robin exchange their vows at Vrede en Lust.
It was a perfectly sunny and breezy day in Stellenbosch and our team of suppliers all brought their best to the table when setting up the couple’s wedding décor in soft shades of lavender and mint which carried from the flowers, to the bridesmaids dresses, to the stationery and guest favours.
The ceremony was setup on the lawn at Vrede en Lust, nestled between the vineyards, it was the perfect setting for a romantic wedding! We set the ceremony area with white tiffany chairs, facing a truly beautiful flowered arch filled with hundreds of extra large, fresh roses in soft shades of lavendar and peach, a perfect touch of romance to the idealic setting!
The guests were treated further to a visual delight as they moved on to the reception room which was decorated with pastel shades of soft mint and lavendar in the rose center pieces, stationery and other touches throughout the room.
One of the things we love about Vrede en Lust is how the reception room is built with 3 glass walls, giving the occupants of the room an incredible view of the rolling vineyards which lead on to the reaching mountain range surrounding the venue – it’s truly spectacular before you’ve even added any décor!
The tables were topped with glass underplates, beautiful rose centre pieces, stunning lavendar coloured wine glasses, and tall crystal candelbra’s for height. The soft lavendar and mint stationery were the perfect touches of colour on the tables and subtly and elegantly matched the decor. All the elements came together beautifully and filled the room perfeclty with a romantic ambiance.
To add more interest to the room, we also filled the space by hanging plenty of white paper lanterns from the roof above the beautiful solid white dance floor, and added a stunning lounge area to the corner of the room with white lounge pieces, topped with elegant cushions for a more comfy feel.
The final icing on the cake was the stunning pastel blue, three tiered wedding cake that stood atop a white wine barrel in the center of the room. The wedding cake was pearl studded in white and filled with a delicious red velvet cake flavour.
The combination of all the pastel, lavender and mint shades came together beautifully at Vrede en Lust in a candle lit night the newlyweds and their guests will never forget.
